(SOLD) 2009 Sabre 426

"Endurance" is a fine example of the popular Sabre 426, and she is one of the last ten built as she is hull #60 in the lineup!  She is in very good shape and has had excellent care through her knowledgeable owners.  They are fastidious in making sure that she has always had proper care.

Offered for sale by her second owners, they have enjoyed cruising the boat since 2011, and have sailed her on the Chesapeake Bay.  They have averaged about 40 hours per year on her engine, so she only has 914 engine hours at the time of listing.  If you are searching for a nice example of the wonderful Sabre 426, do not miss this vessel!

A few highlights include:

Her hull was Awlgripped Flag Blue in 2015 and has a truly radiant shine.

Her exterior canvas is all new for the 2024 season.

AB RIB Tender (2018) and Yamaha 9.9HP motor (2020) are included.

DESCRIPTIONS

Vessel Overview & Layout

Crafted in the Maine tradition, this Sabre 426 is truly a work of art.  Designed by the Jim Taylor design team, she exudes a timeless elegance.  Her strong, rugged build, traditional features, and beautifully finished joinery ensure that she will be just as well received in future as she is today.  Sabre is known for building quality vessels, and many sailors admire their proportional lines, classic styling, and functional design.

As you step aboard through the lifeline side gate, you are met with a wide, uncluttered side deck for ease of passage fore and aft.  Her coachroof is proportional and allows for solid footing with sail handling as well as providing space for proper portlights and hatches for excellent natural lighting below.  At the bow, the large anchor well is divided into two compartments to help keep two anchor rodes organized and at-the-ready.

Moving aft into the large T-shaped cockpit, it is evident that Sabre has evolved their designs through the years, and this vessel offers a great combination of design features that are sure to make your time aboard enjoyable.  Large Edson destroyer wheel (great for steering from the side coaming), binnacle with the MFD close at hand, engine and autopilot controls just to starboard, elevated helm seat, and good storage lockers and compartments round out this excellent design.  Walk-down transom ensures easy access for boarding from the dinghy or from the sea.

Stepping down into the companionway brings you to the beautiful main salon.  Lots of American cherry is used throughout, and the traditional teak and holly sole will always catch your eye.  U-shaped galley is on the starboard side with lots of storage, large double stainless steel sink with pressurized freshwater along with hand-operated fresh and salt water pumps, a three-burner propane stove & oven, microwave, and the large refrigerator which features both top and side access can be found to the aft.

Opposite the galley is the large forward-facing navigation station which has lots of space for working and storage.  The ship's electrical circuit controls are found here, along with the master ICOM VHF and a Raymarine MFD.  The aft cabin is accessed just behind the navigation station.  There is a large fore & aft berth, hanging locker, vanity sink and mirror, seat, and lots of built-in storage.  Engine access is via the box just in front of the berth.

The main salon has a traditional L-shaped settee to port with forward bulkhead table, and a straight settee to starboard.  Table leaf allows for a large dining space for all of your family and guests.  Port settee can pull out to a larger double berth.  Cabinet storage is behind the settees, and there is storage behind the cushions as well.

Moving forward brings you to the large hanging locker to starboard, and the full head with separate shower to port.  Access is via the aft door, or via the forward door which provides direct access from the forward stateroom.  Forward stateroom has a large island berth with a custom mattress, drawer storage below, and lots of built in cabinetry on either side for additional storage.

Her owners take great pride in keeping their vessel shipshape, and she speaks for herself in terms of cleanliness and organization!

Sabre Yachts Overview of the Sabre 426

The Sabre 426 embraces the standards which have put Sabre's name atop the quality spectrum of boatbuilding for the last 30 years. Current Sabre owners and those who have followed the brand over time, will see details here which make it feel familiar. Details which make sense, which add to comfort, security and well being. Logical details that, above all, make each Sabre design a great safe and beautiful sailboat. But details from the past are just part of the story. Keeping up with technology has to go hand in hand with our desire to build the finest possible sailing yachts for our clients. The Sabre 426 hull and deck will be built using vacuum bagged, closed cell, cross linked PVC foam and structural E Glass, which will give her one of the strongest, lightest, most durable structures available today.
