The beautiful full satin finished varnished teak interior, with a varnished teak & holly sole, accommodates up to six in a two stateroom galley up configuration. There is abundant natural light and ventilation throughout courtesy of the numerous windows surrounding the salon, four sliders with screens, six opening ports and three hatches. Artificial light is equally well provided for with swivel style reading lamps at all of the berth and settees and several overhead lamps in working spaces and the Salon. Cooling and heating is handled by the Marine Air reverse cycle (heats and cools) air conditioning equipment.
Starting forward is the Master Stateroom. Unique to this Eastbay 40 is the well thought out layout with the galley up and the Island berth configuration in the Master Stateroom. Above the berth the hull is lined with teak "ceilings" and there is additional storage in underdeck lockers P&S. Aft and to port is a hanging locker and then a bureau with four drawers while aft and to starboard is a second hanging locker and private access to the head.
The Head features a separate stall shower compartment aft, Vacuflush W.C. plumbed via a Y-valve to the holding tank, and laminate top vanity with molded in sink and storage in drawers and lockers.
Opposite to port is the Guest Stateroom. Again, thanks to the galley up arrangement this stateroom affords a bit more space than on other Eastbay 40s or 43s. There are two single berths in an upper and lower configuration, below which there is storage in drop face lockers. Above the lower berth there is storage outboard as well. Aft is a bureau with drawers while fwd is a small desk outboard of which are additional lockers.
To port is the Galley featuring front access refrigerator freezer with Seaward Princess three burner stove with oven & broiler, Corian counter space, large single basin stainless steel sink, and storage in several lockers and drawers. Uline ice maker below the helm bench and ample storage.
The Salon includes the L-Settee to starboard which makes out into a double berth if occassion requires, with storage in drop face lockers below; while to port is a straight settee and bureau just aft. Dining is from a varnished teak drop leaf table with built in storage compartments and bottle and magazine storage below. Access to the cockpit is via the centerline sliding door aft.
