Job Title: Marine Yard Hand and Travel Lift Operator

Occasional weekends, as needed
Pay: $20.00-30.00 Hourly
Job Description:
This position requires strong attention to detail, situational awareness, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for staff, customers, and vessels equally.
Key Responsibilities
Boat Handling & Travel Lift Operation:
- Safely work under and around boats, equipment, and machinery
- Lift, move, and position heavy wood blocking, boat stands, and related materials
- Operate tractors and marina travel lift to move boats safely and efficiently
- Assist with boat yard movements, haul-outs, and pressure washing operation
- Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment and report any damage and maintenance needs to management
- Remain up to date on OSHA and company guidelines and ensure a safe environment
- Maintain organized recordkeeping on all heavy marina equipment certifications to ensure they are up to date
- Other duties as assigned
General Yard & Facility Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of the yard and shop
- Clean and perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Dock Repair Assistance
- Light boat repair and/or detailing as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of Boat Yard including interior and exterior areas
- Identify maintenance or repair issues and report them to the supervisor when unable to resolve independently
- Perform general groundskeeping tasks such as raking gravel, disposing of old materials, weeding, touch-up painting exterior shop areas
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to life 50 lbs. or more repeatedly throughout the day
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to bend, climb, crouch, and work in confined spaces safely
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating heavy equipment
- Travel lift operation experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Clean Driving Record required (all candidates subject to background check)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
