Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and hardworking Yacht Detailing and Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and condition of all vessels, as well as the surrounding yard and facility.
Responsibilities include detailed cleaning, polishing, and upkeep of both the exterior and interior of yachts; performing routine inspections and minor repairs; and assisting with the preparation of vessels for delivery to their owners. The Specialist ensures all yachts are maintained in top condition for display and delivery, while also helping keep the facility safe, clean, and efficient.
This position is physically demanding and may require working in tight or confined spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and detail the interior and exterior of vessels, including washing, waxing, vacuuming and polishing surfaces
- Prepare and apply antifouling bottom paint to vessel hulls
- Operate corded and cordless buffers on and off staging for extended periods of time
- Remove dirt, grime, and stains from hulls, decks, cabins, upholstery, and other surfaces
- Inspect vessels for damage or areas requiring special attention; report findings to a supervisor and perform repairs as directed
- Use specialized cleaning products, tools, and equipment to achieve high-quality results
- Maintain cleanliness, and organization of the facility, including basic maintenance, painting of buildings and grounds, and minor janitorial tasks as requested
- Ensure the facility remains free of hazards and that all equipment is properly stored and maintained
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of vessels to customers
- Communicate professionally with customers and potential buyers regarding vessel detailing and maintenance
- Ensure accurate work order accounting by making timely entries into time tracking and scheduling systems
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
General
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in yacht or vessel detailing preferred, but not required
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time
- Knowledge of marine-specific cleaning products, tools, and detailing techniques (or willingness to learn)
- Willingness to follow directions, adapt to changing priorities, and learn new skills
- Valid Driver’s License
Experience:
- Vessel detailing: 1 Year (Preferred)
- Familiarity and knowledge of cleaning products, tools, and techniques specific to marine detailing
