Josh Dean

I started in the marine industry over 30 years ago at Old Lyme Marina, where I was fortunate to learn from a team of great mentors who taught me the importance of attention to detail, whether it was painting a bottom or, as time went on, rebuilding engines. I spent 10 years there developing my skills and gaining hands-on experience in many areas of marine service.

As my family was growing, I moved to Essex Boat Works where I became Mechanical Foreman, continuing to expand my technical knowledge and leadership experience. Over the years, I have earned several industry certifications including Yanmar, Westerbeke, and Volvo Penta, and I am ABYC certified in electrical systems.

I later started my own business providing yacht management and mechanical services, which I operated for 11 years while building strong relationships with a loyal and long-standing customer base.

Most recently, I served as Service Manager at Ferry Point Marina. When I saw that DiMillo’s was expanding to Old Lyme, I was thrilled for the opportunity to return to where it all started and to be part of the team as the marina continues to grow.

Outside of work, my family and I enjoy spending time on our boat cruising the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound, fishing together. Being on the water personally helps keep me connected to the boating lifestyle our customers enjoy, and I look forward to working with our team to provide exceptional service and support to both new and longtime boaters.
