Dave Martin

I have spent most of my life with a love for the water and spending time on boats. Growing up in St. Pete Beach, Florida my family exposed me to long days on the water, both fishing and sailing. In my teens I was exposed to offshore sailing and robust cruising boats. This led me to a path of serious ocean sailing, taking me all over the east coast, Bermuda, and several memorable seasons in Bahamas.

After close to a decade working in broadcast engineering I transitioned to the marine trades. My experience with my own boats made the transition easy. Having refit my own classic double-ended cutter over a number of years. Working in a high-volume yard in Annapolis, I discovered a new passion for yacht electrical work as well as restoration.  My experience has taken me through many of the niches in the industry, from lithium power systems, to Awlgrip, and canvas.  I’ve had the pleasure of leading some great teams in all reaches of the marine trades.

Joining the team at DiMillo’s was an easy choice for me. Working on some of my favorite boat builder’s designs day in and day out, at a company where my teammates love what they do. Clearly, I’ve found myself in the right place. I’m excited to bring this combination of technical expertise and maritime passion to every project at DiMillo’s.
