Captain Eli could not be more happy to be out of the Erie Canal and running in open waters where he reports the weather was pristine. There was very little boat traffic with the exception of a few large tankers. He made it to Ohio, where their state slogan is “Find it here,” and they did. Kelly Island is the stopping point for today. An island off the coast of Sandusky, Ohio, rich in history and delightful marinas. Tomorrow’s stop is Port Heron to clear customs and if all goes well, the new owner of this magnificent Sabre 48 Salon Express will receive his new vessel on Friday in the Georgian Bay.
