Shrink Wrap Recycling in Oxford

This year, DiMillo’s on the Chesapeake East is a part of the ‘plastic pollution solution’! We joined our marine partner Marine Trades Association of Maryland, in conjunction with the Maryland Clean Marina Program and Chesapeake Materials, to recycle the shrink wrap that covered the boats in our yard this year.  The MTAM delivered bags to our location and our service team got to work carefully removing the protectant shrink wrap, removing the door frames, straps, and zippers, cutting it to manageable sizes, and placing it in the provided bags for them to be picked up and recycled properly.

Microplastics are found in 75% – 100% of water samples taken from the Chesapeake Bay. Proper handling of post consumer plastics is the most effective way of cutting down on contaminants to improve the health of the waterways where we live, work, and play. DiMillo’s is committed to doing our part in reducing pollution and we’re excited to continue working with this program and more to make that happen.
