Today we celebrate the lighthouses that have guided mariners for centuries. These beacons symbolize safety, resilience, and coastal heritage. With it’s rugged shores and deep maritime history, Maine is home to more lighthouses than any other U.S. state. Among them, one stands out for it’s location and iconic design:
West Quoddy Head Light — Lubec, Maine
Marking the easternmost point in the United States, the candy-striped tower has stood watch over the Bay of Fundy since 1808. It’s bold red and white stripes and remote setting make it one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country.
