Today’s employee spotlight is DiMillo’s on the Chesapeake West’s lead service technician and co-service manager, Ryan Dierks! Ryan has been with DiMillo’s since 2015 and has been a dedicated and assiduous member of the company ever since.
Ryan spent the first 10 years of his life living in Florida which sparked his passion for being on the water. Ryan was lucky to have several opportunities to travel up and down the ICW with his dad (DiMillo’s on the Chesapeake East Yacht Broker, Pete Dierks) who was a captain at the time. In 2001, the Dierks family moved to Kansas and ironically stayed in the boating industry. There, Ryan’s dad, Pete worked at a Runabout manufacturer and continued instilling the fundamentals of boatbuilding to Ryan.
After earning an associate’s degree in business administration and relocating to Maryland, Ryan decided it was time to enter the industry that he knew was in his blood- the marine industry! Since working DiMillo’s West River, Maryland, location Ryan has had the ability to grow within the company and earn his Master Captains License and ABYC Master Technician Certification. Outside of work, he enjoys working on home improvement projects, restoring a boat in his garage, and spending time with his wife and two dogs!
