Marine Service Technician with a focus on Mechanical
DiMillo’s Yacht Sales is a professional yacht dealership and brokerage firm with five locations stretching along the east coast including Freeport and Portland, Maine; Glen Cove, New York and West River and Oxford, Maryland. DiMillo’s has been providing yacht sales expertise since 1998, now representing new yachts from Sabre Yachts, Back Cove Yachts, and MJM.
Job Summary:
Our service center based in West River, Maryland is expanding and we are now hiring a Marine Service Technician to join our close-knit team. This is a fast paced, productive, and rewarding position. You will be involved in all aspects of commissioning, troubleshooting, decommissioning, fit and finish work, delivery, and on-going maintenance. Self-motivation, a good work ethic and attention to detail is important. As with all of our employees, we ask that applicants have an innate desire to be the best.
Responsibilities Include:
- New boat commissioning including but not limited to: hull work, systems work, custom request installs, sea trialing, electronics, and varnish.
- Mechanical diagnostics, troubleshooting, general maintenance, and repair on new and pre-owned vessels, including estimates.
- Perform spring commissioning and fall decommissioning on power boats ranging from 20’-70’ of all makes and models.
- Identify, report, and correct warranty items.
- Build relationship with our clients, along with service portfolios. Make recommendations for improvements.
Job Requirements:
- Mechanical inclination and troubleshooting mind (ABYC certification is valued).
- Demonstrate understanding of marine systems, vessel operation, vessel construction, and troubleshooting principles.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to perform well and produce an excellent product with defined outlines, under strict scheduling, with minimal supervision.
- Desire to learn new technologies and skills.
- Flexible, goal oriented, team focused.
- Capable of lifting 50lbs, occasionally more.
