Salary: $20.00 – $40.00 Hourly

Job Description: 

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Marine Technician to join our team. The Marine Technician will be responsible for all aspects of commissioning and decommissioning boats, mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics, general maintenance and repair, and delivery of the vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine technology, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead boat commissioning processes, including installation, configuration, and testing of marine electronics and navigation systems
  • Perform boat decommissioning procedures, including removal of personal items, draining fluids, battery disconnection, and securing vessels for transport or storage
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and marine system issues with accuracy and efficiency
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on new and pre-owned vessels, including engines, electrical systems, and onboard equipment
  • Apply varnish to interior and exterior vessel surfaces with precision and attention to detail
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair boat bottom systems, including hull fittings and underwater components
  • Conduct sea trials and operational testing to verify proper functionality and performance of all onboard systems
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and service work performed
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers and team members, fostering strong professional relationships
  • Ensure accurate work order accounting through timely entries in time tracking and scheduling systems
  • Stay current with advancements in marine technology and industry best practices
  • Comply with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support additional operational needs, including vessel cleaning and detailing, as required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in marine technology preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Marine Technician or in a related role.
  • Strong working knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, and marine electronics.
  • Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and troubleshooting software.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
