Lake House is a custom picnic styled re-fit derived from the notorious and somewhat cultish Wilbur Yachts 34. Originally designed by renowned greats, Lee Wilbur and Ralph Ellis, her hull has a long, proven pedigree among true Downeast enthusiasts. She has been featured in articles and trade shows as a one-off exemplary in craftsmanship, creative liberties, and attention to detail. While her stance is traditional and classic, careful and deliberate steps were taken in radiusing original hard lines, removing the fly bridge, opening the rear bulkhead, and accentuating her best features.
She’s a bit of a contradictory of sorts:
She’s simple, yet elegant. She looks good at the dock, but a real performer at sea. She’s comfortable, yet spartan. she’s a stunner, but not high maintenance. She has just the right amount of flair, just the right amount of varnish, just the right amount of systems, and just the right amount of accommodations.
