Today was an exciting day for the DiMillo’s and Coastal Craft teams as our very first Coastal Craft 65 was loaded on the cargo ship for transport to the East Coast. For those unfamiliar with the process, here it is; Coastal Craft boats are built in Gibsons BC, Canada. The 65 is too large to be trucked across North America to the East Coast, so the boat is actually launched in Gibson, British Columbia and brought to Bellingham, Washington to clear customs. From there, it heads back to Victoria, British Columbia, to get loaded on the cargo ship for transport. The cargo ship will run down the West Coast, through the Panama Canal and ultimately arrive in Port Everglades, Florida. It will be unloaded and received by our very own Captain Eli. Captain Eli will run the boat up the East Coast making stops are locations in Maryland and New York before she finally reaches Maine. The photos below were provided to us by our friends at Coastal Craft. This cargo ship is actually carrying two 65’s headed for the northeast; hull #2 and hull #4.
