Salary:$52,000 – $56,000 Annually

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Marine Technician to join our team. The Marine Technician will be responsible for all aspects of commissioning and decommissioning boats, mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics, general maintenance and repair, and the delivery of the vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine technology, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining account details for vendors and customers
  • Assist with monthly billing activities ensuring accurate and timely invoicing
  • Maintain excellent filed and notes in accounting software on customers and vendors
  • Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirement compliance
  • Maintains oversight of subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
  • Entering and maintaining vendor bills. Communicate when issues arise with regards to vendors in the billing system.
  • Performs intercompany transfers and balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Reviews daily Point of Sale activity and assists with entries and cash records
  • Calculates and processes sales tax payments for multiple states
  • Other duties, as necessary (for example, being cross-trained on entering credit card receipts and reconciling credit card accounts

Experiences/Skills:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • 2+ years of full cycle AP experience
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Integrated Dealer System software and/or comparable accounting software. Adept at learning new software
  • Intermediate experience with Excel – ability to use data filters, equations and pivot tables
  • High attention to detail and ability to problem-solve independently
  • Experience handling both simple and complex AP invoices
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Exceptional internal and external customer service aptitude; positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Self-motivated individual with great initiative and ability to work well under pressure; prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience with maintaining sensitive and confidential information and data
  • Associates Degree (Preferred)
  • Quick Books: 1 year (preferred)
  • Bookkeeping 3 years (preferred)
