Job Title: Boat Yard Assistant
Work Location: Portland, Maine
Salary: $18 – $22 Hourly
Key Responsibilities:
Boat Handling & Transport Support
- Assist the Yacht Transport Driver with boat hauls, launches, and yard moves
- Safely work under and around boats, equipment, and machinery
- Lift, move, and position heavy wood blocking, boat stands, and related equipment
- Assist with operating equipment such as:
- Work Boat
- Boom Truck
- Tractor
- Travel Lift
General Yard & Facility Duties
- Yard, shop, breakroom, and conference room cleanup
- Equipment cleaning and routine maintenance
- Dock Repair
- Light boat repair and/or detailing as needed
- Parts runs and errands
- Maintain cleanliness of Building B, including interior and exterior areas
- Identify maintenance or repair issues and report them to the supervisor when unable to resolve independently
- Assist with boat yard movements, haul-outs, and pressure washing operations
- Support dock and marina operations, including boat moves and repairs to docks and related infrastructure
Requirements:
- Ability to life 50 lbs. or more repeatedly throughout the day
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to bend, climb, crouch, and work in confined spaces safely
