Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm

Occasional weekends, as needed

Salary: $60,000 – $80,000

Job Description: 

This position is for an experienced rigger capable of working independently on standing and running rigging, deck hardware installations, rig inspection, and mast tuning. Ideal candidates have hands-on professional rigging experience and understand the performance requirements of modern cruising and racing platforms.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Step & unstep masts (carbon & aluminum)
  • Standing rigging installation (wire, rod, composite)
  • Running rigging fabrication, replacements, and upgrades
  • Advanced splicing (Dyneema, Spectra, high-modulus)
  • Deck hardware installation (track systems, clutches, winches, travelers)
  • Furling system installation & service (Harken, Selden, Facnor, Reckmann)
  • Rig inspections and written documentation
  • Diagnose alignment, compression, loading, and failure issues
  • Customer-focused recommendations & performance upgrades

Requirements:

  • 3+ years professional yacht rigging experience
  • Strong splicing ability
  • Able to work safely aloft
  • Familiar with modern deck hardware brands
  • Reliable transportation to local yards and marinas
  • Good communication and customer interaction skills
  • Ability to work independently and to a high standard

Experience:

  • Race boat programs or offshore sailing campaigns
  • Proficiency with hydraulic vang and backstay systems
  • Experience servicing carbon spars
  • Familiarity with modern sail handling systems, including
    • Top-down furling systems
    • Structural furlers
  • Working knowledge of high-performance deck hardware
  • Experience with composite standing rigging (e.g., PBO, Carbon, ECsix)

Additional Qualifications: 

  • Marine electronics awareness (B&G, Raymarine, Masthead sensors, etc.)
  • Composite or carbon fiber repair
  • Basic electrical/mechanical experience
  • Carpentry and fiberglass knowledge a plus
  • Marina experience a plus
