Whether you’re out at sea or celebrating on land, this Butter and Brown Sugar Shrimp recipe is the perfect appetizer to ring in the New Year!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound shrimp, cleaned and deveined
  • 7 thick pieces of bacon, cut into thirds
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon chipotle powder

Directions:

Preheat over to 400 degrees fahrenheit.   Line a baking sheet with parchment.  Wrap each shrimp with 1 slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.  Place on the baking sheet.  In a bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar and chipotle powder.  Brush each bacon-wrapped shrimp with the butter mixture.  (Save any extra butter mixture for basting)  Bake the shrimp until cook through, about 4-5 minutes.  Switch the oven to broil and brush the shrimp with the remaining butter mixture.  Broil for approximately 1-2 minutes until bubbly.  Serve immediately!
