Last week, Captain Eli (our in-house captain) and his son, Harper, took a 2017 Sabre 66 Dirigo from Glen Cove, NY, to Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  On their memorable six day journey, they were joined by crew members Pete and his son Levi, good friends of Captain Eli.

The crew departed from DiMillo’s Yacht Sales in Glen Cove, NY, and spent day one in Chesapeake City, MD. While their destination was close to both of our DiMillo’s on the Chesapeake locations, the crew had a weather window and they were on a mission to head further south.

Day two brought them to Coinjock Marina in NC. By taking sections of the inter-coastal waterway, the team was able to shorten the length of their delivery and see some great scenery!

Day three had them stopping in Beaufort, NC for the night and day four’s port of call was Georgetown, SC. With just one stop left on their delivery, the crew made it to St. Augustine, FL, for day five, allowing for an easy final day.

The final stretch of the journey was straight down FL’s East Coast where they reached their final destination in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Throughout the six days on the water, the fathers and sons shared laughs, good food, patience and a lack of patience, long days together and the best scenery the East Coast has to offer!
