Ray Hunt

I spent my early years in Dartmouth, Massachusetts on Buzzards Bay. My family spent countless hours on the water, inspired by my father’s sailing expertise and his deep passion for racing. I graduated from Hampshire College with a BA in computer science and education and wrote software for a curriculum development company for a few years until returning to my roots as a boatbuilder at Concordia Custom Yachts. In 1998, I was offered a key management role at Hunt Boatbuilders, a joint venture between Concordia Company and C. Raymond Hunt Associates, the company founded by my grandfather. Our first product was the Hunt 33, and we quickly developed a line of stable, efficient power boats from 25’-36’ that utilized my grandfather’s iconic Deep-V hull design. The company grew in the early 2000’s to develop larger, semi-custom yachts up to 80’, established a partnership with Global Yacht Builders in Taiwan, and was sold to Hinckley Yachts in 2013, when I was named Project Manager and Engineer of the Ocean Series. I’m truly honored to carry forward my family’s legacy and value the many friendships I’ve made on the water. When I’m not working on boats, I can often be found skiing in New England or exploring high-altitude peaks with my wife, both in the U.S. and abroad.
