Job Description:

DiMillo’s on the Chesapeake East (DOTCE) is seeking a dynamic, goal-oriented individual to join our team as a Marina Manager/Office Manager.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a recreational boating environment and enjoys being at the center of marina operations on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

DiMillo’s on the Chesapeake East (DOTCE) is part of the DiMillo’s Yacht Sales family—a well-established and respected name in the boating industry with multiple locations across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. DOTCE features 70 wet slips, winter storage, a year-round service department, and yacht sales. Our onsite amenities include a swimming pool, bathhouses, a laundry facility, and protected slips along Town Creek.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facility Management & Light Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of all DOTCE facilities, including older buildings, docks, and common areas, including, but not limited to: managing maintenance of the swimming pool, office building, service buildings, docks/piers, parking areas, apartment, and bathrooms/showers.
  • Slip Sales & Occupancy Coordination: Manage all boat slips and related contracts. Working closely with clients and guests to determine appropriate vessel placement, and assist with arrangements for both short- and long-term stays. Provide detailed information on amenities and available slips while creatively maximizing slip utilization.
  • Seasonal Slip Holder Management: Oversee contracts for seasonal slip holders, including assignment and ongoing management of slips.
  • Transient Slip Rentals: Manage transient reservations through our web-based system. Maximize occupancy throughout the season by proactively coordinating bookings.
  • Daily Dock Checks: Perform routine checks of docks and marina grounds to monitor infrastructure, mechanical systems, vessels, and overall guest experience.
  • Seasonal Staff Management: Hire, train, and manage seasonal dock staff. Ensure all team members are equipped and prepared to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Work with subcontractors on routine maintenance tasks as well as capital improvement projects.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Coordination: Collaborate with town, county, and state agencies as needed for facility changes, improvements, regulatory compliance, and permitting.
  • Sales Support: Assist the sales team with documentation, closing packets, and filing excise tax with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
  • Administrative Operations/Office Management: Support daily administrative functions for the business, including, coordination with sales and service departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Manage office supplies, equipment, and any other required general administrative needs.
  • Accounts Payable Support: Assist with processing and managing Accounts Payable for the location.

Requirements:

  • Customer-Focused: A friendly, accommodating demeanor is essential. Experience in hospitality or guest services is a strong plus.
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to schedule, coordinate, and take a hands-on approach to projects. Strong communication skills to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Marina Environment: Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and assist slip holders and guests with all boating-related needs—from docking support to concierge-style service. Our clients deserve attention, focus, and trust.
  • Regulatory Familiarity: Understanding of Maryland DNR guidelines, MD Clean Marina initiatives, and general state regulations related to waterfront facilities is highly desirable, but not required, training is available.
  • Basic Computer Proficiency: Competence with Microsoft Outlook, Excel spreadsheets, Dropbox, and marina management software a plus.
  • Business Acumen: Awareness of operating costs and the ability to manage or communicate cost-related considerations for the facility.
  • Ability to Relocate: Oxford, MD before staring work
