Hilary Pesarik-Thompson

My career in the boating industry began when I was a young whipper snapper just out of college. After graduating from the State University of New York, with a degree in music, I moved to Maine where I was fortunate to work as the Sales Coordinator for Back Cove Yachts during their early years. My responsibilities included supporting the dealer network and clients specifically working with both to ensure the clients were building a boat to suit their needs, providing specification to the production team, being a member of the Back Cove Design Team and attending boat shows throughout North America building the Back Cove Yachts brand.

While I was with Back Cove Yachts, I grew great admiration for the team at DiMillo’s and the care they took ensuring each client’s experience was exceptional. When the time came to stop traveling and start my own family, I knew I wanted to join the team at DiMillo’s in Portland, Maine. In 2008, I started my adventure and I’ve had the opportunity to work in our different departments from sales and marketing to service and accounting. In my current role as the Director of Marketing and Administration, I work closely with the teams in Maine, New York and Maryland implementing and constantly evolving our sales and marketing approaches. In addition to marketing, I help to bridge the needs and requirements of our administration and service departments with our sales team. I enjoy collaborating with the different teams to make our processes more efficient and effective. I also, on occasion, have the opportunity, to project manage new yacht constructions which keeps me up to speed on the new technologies and the ever-evolving build processes with our different manufacturers. Over the years, I’ve found that the most rewarding part of my role at DiMillo’s is delivery day! It’s my favorite and I love all of the personal touches that our crew adds for our owners. As a boater myself, I know the endless memories that are just on the horizon when we make the handoff of a new or pre-owned boat to its new owners.

I absolutely love to cruise with my husband, son and daughter, on our West Bay 31 (a lobster boat hull finished for cruising) around the Maine and New England Coasts. I also enjoy puttering around the Harraseeket River and neighboring islands on our 13’ Whaler that my son has now commandeered as his boat. When I’m not working or playing on boats, you’ll find me cheering my children on at a musical event or a sports game, gardening, taking on a home improvement project or throwing a Clambake at our home in South Freeport.
