Growing up on the coast of Maine I very quickly learned about my love for the water. Through all of my adventures and milestones I have yet to leave the ocean.
I started sailing at a young age racing at the Portland Yacht Club in Falmouth, Maine. I continued racing through high school at Sail Maine. Then I attended Maine Maritime Academy skippering for both the dingy and offshore teams. Throughout college I crewed for my brother match racing at Oakcliff Sailing Center in Oyster Bay, New York. Sailing is where it all started for me.
In 2015 I graduated from Maine Maritime Academy with a bachelor of science in marine transportation, associates degree in business and 1600 ton mates license. I moved to Houston, Texas right out of school to work for G&H Towing in one of the busiest ports in the United States. I started by working on conventional twin screw tugs and shifting to working on Z-drive tugboats. After a year I took my experience and accepted a position working for Moran Towing in Miami, Florida. There I started as a mate gaining experience and management skills to move into a captains position. By the age of twenty-six I was the captain of a 6000 horsepower Z-drive tugboat, becoming one of Moran’s youngest captains.
After spending five years on tugboats, I shifted to working shoreside in the yacht sales service industry. I now live in Falmouth, Maine with my husband and daughter along with an Australian Shepard, a Miami wharf cat and five hens. In the summer we are out on the water exploring the coast of Maine and in the off season you’ll find us hiking, skiing and exploring Maine!
