DiMillo’s Yacht Sales is hiring a new Payroll and HR Generalist to join this growing organization. DiMillo’s Yacht Sales is a professional yacht dealership and brokerage firm with six locations stretching from Maine to Maryland.  DiMillo’s has been providing yacht sales expertise since 1998.  This is an excellent opportunity to join this exciting industry.
The Payroll and HR Generalist role reports to the General Manager and will carry out all functions of the day-to-day operations of human resources and payroll duties and provides support to the management team. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training administration, performance management, payroll, policy development and implementation, recruitment and onboarding, Employee file maintenance, and employment law compliance.
This position will be a hybrid remote opportunity with ability to report to the Portland offices as needed on a regular basis.  Also, must have the ability to travel to other locations when required.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Maintains all employee records and personnel files in accordance with state and federal document retention requirements.
  • Ensures labor law postings are current and compliant with state and federal standards. 
  • Performs all benefits administration to include annual review and renewal process, employee enrollment.
  • Administers and assists in the development of various human resource plans and procedures, such as employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.  
  • Conducts full cycle recruitment and onboarding all personnel; conducts new-employee orientations.
  • Makes recommendations to the management team for continuous improvement in areas of policies and procedures, recruitment, training, employee engagement and performance management and efficiency of the department and services performed. 
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, training and systems.  
  • Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.  
  • Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.  
  • Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.  
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment and payroll. 
  • Provides back up support to the safety manager with training and claims management. 
  • Using ADP oversees time entry, timecard review/approval process, maintains W-4 tax data, direct deposit data and any other personal data in the system.
  • Issues W-2 Wage and Tax Statement reprints. 
  • Processes garnishments which include child supports, tax levies, student loans, WRIT of garnishments, etc. 
  • Compiles financial, tax and payroll reports for both internal and external purposes. 
  • Compiles and analyzes payroll data, makes recommendations, and prepares related reports. 
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.  
Job Qualifications:
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in related field and/or 5+ years of experience in a Human Resources and payroll capacity minimum.
  • Solid understanding of multi-state and federal employment law and compliance. 
  • Solid understanding of all aspects of payroll regarding payroll laws and regulations. 
  • Must be computer literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and familiarity with HRIS particularly ADP experience. 
  • Must be able to listen and communicate effectively and professionally in both oral and written communications. 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
